This summer we will again be running "Homeowners" and "Churchwardens" courses. Dates and venues are yet to be fixed.
Homeowners Course: 2 days, held on different weekends. The first day is classroom based, with lectures and case studies covering many aspects of care and maintenance of old houses. The second day is practical, dealing with lime plastering, pointing and limewashing - with delegates invited to have a go.
Churchwardens Course: 1 day held in and around a church. Covers what to look for in an old building, maintenance priorities, materials and specifying and managing repairs.
This course can be held by arrangement for a parish or group of parishes, using your own church as the location and basis for discussion.
If you are interested in either course, please click here for an enquiry form or contact us for more details.
Familiarity with the right materials and techniques for repairing and maintaining traditional buildings can be of great benefit to owners and building managers. (For an explanation of traditional buildings click on the picture to the right of this page.)
For builders and craftsmen working on old buildings an understanding of appropriate materials and how to use them is essential.
We regularly arrange hands-on and on-site training for groups andindividuals.
With training and guidance you can tackle simple jobs yourself and will be able to manage contractors with confidence.
We work with craftsmen who are skilled in the use of modern materials to adapt their techniques and develop an understanding of traditional materials.
Please contact us to discuss any training requirements or for more information.
